Building control
The building control authority guides the builder in planning and applying for a permit and does its part to ensure that the built environment is safe, healthy and comfortable.
The supervision of construction starts with the start of the building work, which is subject to authorization, and ends with the final inspection. The building control authority supervises building activities and the built environment in the public interest and ensures that the land use and building act and the land use and building decree are implemented.
The building control offices are located on the 1st floor of the Town Hall, in the right wing. The inspector’s office is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is advisable to make an appointment in advance, as part of his working time is taken up by inspections and visits to the built environment, and he is not always at his desk.
